Stifi
Dr. Ahmed Stifi is an internationally recognized expert in engineering contracts, FIDIC, construction management, and dispute avoidance and resolution, with more than two decades of experience spanning academia, engineering consultancy, and the delivery of major infrastructure projects across Europe and the Middle East. His career has been dedicated to advancing excellence in engineering governance, contractual best practices, integrity, and sustainable infrastructure development.
He holds a master’s degree in Civil Engineering from the Technical University of Darmstadt and a Ph.D. in Construction Management and Technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), Germany, where he graduated with the highest honors. His academic research focused on innovative project delivery methods, construction management, and collaborative approaches that enhance project performance throughout the entire project lifecycle.
Dr. Stifi has held senior leadership positions with internationally respected organizations, including CDM Smith, Ingérop Germany, and fischer Consulting, advising public and private sector clients on engineering management, project governance, contract administration, risk management, and organizational transformation. In 2021, he founded Acumen Groupe, an international engineering and management firm delivering infrastructure and construction projects, strategic advisory, engineering management, and digital transformation services across Germany, Saudi Arabia, Syria, and the United Arab Emirates.
Internationally, Dr. Stifi is widely recognized for his contributions to engineering contracts and professional ethics. He currently serves as Chair of the FIDIC Integrity Management Committee (IMC), leading global initiatives that promote integrity, transparency, ethical business practices, and good governance throughout the engineering and infrastructure industry. He actively contributes to the development and promotion of international best practices relating to FIDIC contracts, procurement, dispute prevention, and responsible project delivery.
A frequent keynote speaker at international conferences and author of numerous technical and professional publications, Dr. Stifi is committed to strengthening institutional capacity and promoting effective contractual frameworks that foster collaboration, resilience, and long-term value creation within the built environment.
As Chairman of the Syrian Center for Engineering Contracts and Arbitration (SCECA), Dr. Stifi leads the Center's strategic vision of establishing Syria's premier institution for engineering contracts, alternative dispute resolution, and professional excellence. His vision is to position SCECA as a regional center of excellence that advances the application of FIDIC principles, modern dispute resolution mechanisms, and internationally recognized standards while supporting sustainable infrastructure development, investment confidence, and the successful reconstruction of Syria through transparent, equitable, and professionally managed engineering projects.
