Eng. Faten Afara is a civil engineer and governance professional with over two decades of experience in engineering project management, institutional leadership, financial governance, and organizational development.

Her multidisciplinary background combines engineering expertise with strategic planning, financial oversight, and capacity building, enabling her to contribute effectively to developing resilient, transparent, and sustainable institutions.

She holds a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Aleppo, a Diploma in Political Science from Istanbul University, and a Diploma in Building Information Modeling (BIM) Management.

Eng. Afara is the first Syrian woman to obtain the FIDIC Future Leaders Management Certificate (FLMC).

As Treasurer and Member of the Board of Directors of the Syrian Center for Engineering Contracts and Arbitration (SCECA), she oversees financial governance and contributes to the Center’s strategic growth and institutional development.
